Will Mayer, Monsignor Donovan High School’s athletic director for the past four years, stepped down at the end of the 2013-14 school year to be the head basketball coach at Creekside High School in St. Augustine, Florida. Under his leadership, Monsignor Donovan sports grew and teams earned several regional and state championships in volleyball, cross country, basketball, soccer, tennis and golf.

Coach Kurt Page is stepping into the role of athletic director for the coming school year. Coach Page has over 13 years of experience as an athletic administrator in private schools throughout the Southeast. Page is entering his second year at Monsignor Donovan. In his first year he was the head football coach for the team’s and school’s inaugural season.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to oversee such a growing, thriving athletic program in a school with so many incredible students, administrators, faculty and staff,” said Page. “The sky is truly the limit in what we can accomplish here across all sports.”

He will continue to direct the football program in addition to his athletic director duties. This season the football team will compete for the first time as a full-time member of the Georgia Independent School Association after playing as an independent in its first season. The football team’s opening game takes place at East Athens Park on Friday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m. against Loganville Christian Academy.
