Published July 19, 2012

The 2012 Encounter of Hispanic Ministries, known as “Encuentro,” will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Andrew Church in Roswell from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Encuentro provides an opportunity for Catholics to share information and to exchange points of view about the integration process of the Catholic Hispanic community in the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

The theme of this year’s Encuentro is “The Challenges of Culture and Leadership – How can I serve the Lord in a culturally diverse Church?”

The event’s keynote speaker will be Alejandro Aguilera, who has 25 years of pastoral experience in faith formation of leaders and young people. Aguilera, who has worked in parish, diocesan and national settings, currently serves Hispanic Catholics at a national level under the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Secretariat of Cultural Diversity of the Church. He is also a member of the academic staff at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md.

A donation of $15 is requested per person. Pre-registrations will be accepted until July 30. Walk-in registrations will be taken at the door on the day of the event.
