Moda Real Fashion Show To Be Held May 3

Published April 17, 2008

Moda Real (“real fashion” in English) is a non-profit youth development program directed towards helping Hispanic girls, 10 to 18 years old.

The Holy Spirit girls meet regularly throughout the year with the girls from three Hispanic missions to discuss values and virtues, appropriate health and beauty tips, as well as to have fun. The fashion show is a terrific year-end celebration that gives the girls the opportunity to shine: they exude confidence walking proudly down the runway in clothes that are fashionable yet modest.

Moda Real gives the participants a chance to bond with other girls, Hispanic and non-Hispanic, all of whom strive to be virtuous in a world where traditional values and morals are often left behind.

The program has sponsorships for this year from companies such as Old Navy, The Coca-Cola Company and Diaz Foods, as well as the endorsement of institutions like the Latin American Association and WIN Now.

In addition to the fashion show and live music, the event will include the opportunity to purchase products from local designers and shops, as well as enjoy Mexican tapas and beverages.

Tickets are $10 and are available in advance or at the door the day of the event.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. The show begins promptly at 4 p.m.

Holy Spirit Preparatory’s upper school campus is located at 4449 Northside Drive, Atlanta.
