Tyrone School Qualifies For State Science Competition

Science Olympiad is a nationally recognized program that offers students an opportunity to experience the practical applications of science. It enhances education and an interest in science and allows students to participate in an academic competition that recognizes achievement in science education. Students competed in 23 events overall, ranging from building a glider where time aloft determined the place, to building a trajectory that is capable of using elastic to launch a ball toward two targets. Other events included building a remote-controlled robot capable of performing a series of tasks, performing lab-based analyses to solve a crime, and analyzing an outbreak in an event sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
