Olympian Returns To Our Lady of Victory School
Published: September 27, 2012
Students and faculty at Our Lady of Victory School, Tyrone, recently welcomed back a former student and Olympian Christian Taylor.
Taylor, 22, brought home the gold medal for the United States in the triple jump at the 2012 London Olympics.
He shared his journey to achieve his gold medal and the story of his success. He graduated from Our Lady of Victory School in 2004.
Taylor wrote personal autographs for all 219 students and at least 20 faculty members. He reminded students that they should always keep God first. An Olympic gold medal is phenomenal, but nothing comes close to God, he said.
Daniel Conley, a fifth-grade student, is treated to seeing the Olympic gold medal won by Christian Taylor, left.
