Pinecrest Boys Fall To Wesleyan In Soccer

Cumming—Wesleyan School, Norcross, took a 2-0 lead into halftime on the foot of junior midfielder Garrett Busch during its April 6 soccer match against Pinecrest Academy. In the second half, with 17:28 remaining, Pinecrest junior forward Nico Sanchez scored a header goal with an assist from senior midfielder Labib Marmarchi. The Pinecrest defense held Wesleyan scoreless in the second half, but the team was unable to generate the offense needed to pull even and take the lead. Pinecrest (1-10) travels to Dacula to take on Hebron Christian Academy on Thursday, April 14.
Wesleyan School’s Spencer Short (#8) tries to cut off Pinecrest Academy’s Nico Sanchez’s path to the goal. Sanchez scored the team’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Wesleyan April 6.
