Lenten Mission In Spanish Offered In Tyrone

TYRONE—St. Matthew Church in Tyrone is offering a three-day Lenten mission in Spanish starting Sunday, April 3, through Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. The mission will be presented by Conventual Franciscan Friar Father Guillermo Aguilar Alamilla. All are welcome to attend.
Father Aguilar has been a Franciscan Friar since 1998 and was ordained a priest in 2006. Father Aguilar completed his philosophy studies at the Seminario Diocesano de Cuautitlan Izcalli in Mexico, and his theological formation at the Pontifica Facultad Teologica de San Giovanni Evangelista, in Palermo, Italy. He also specialized in the theology of the consecrated life, at the Instituto Claretianun of la Pontificia Facultad Lateranensis, in Rome, Italy.
His pastoral activities include collaboration with the Scalabrinian Missioners and the migrant Latino-American population in Rome. He has also worked in the outskirts of Mexico City ministering to the youth and as a marriage counselor.
Since August 2010, he has been working with the community of Conventual Franciscans friars serving the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Austin, Texas, where he is a resident priest and assistant youth minister.
With the theme “Christ gave himself for us. Lord, by Your cross and resurrection, You have set us free,” and using it as a starting point for the liturgical celebrations of the Easter Triduum, Father Aguilar will present how the Catholic Church lives the mystery of faith deeply, through biblical, liturgical and theological meditations, highlighting some of the important elements for conversion of people’s hearts to God.
La Iglesia Católica de San Mateo en Tyrone ofrecerá Ejercicios espirituales de Cuaresma los días 3, 4 y 5 de Abril a las 7 pm. Los Ejercicios espirituales serán presentados por Fray Guillermo Aguilar Alamilla OFMConv.
Fray Aguilar es un religioso franciscano, profeso desde 1998, ordenado sacerdote en el 2006. Completó sus estudios filosóficos en el Seminario Diocesano de Cuautitlán Izcalli y su formación teológica en la Pontificia Facultad Teológica de San Giovanni Evangelista, en Palermo, Italia.
Su actividad Ministerial incluye la colaboración con los Misioneros Scalabrinianos en la atención a la Pastoral del Migrante, con población latinoamericana en Roma, Italia; Pastoral Parroquial en la periferia de la Ciudad de México, con particular atención a la pastoral matrimonial, de la juventud y catequética. Desde Agosto del 2010 integra la comunidad de Frailes al servicio de la Parroquia “Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe” en Austin, Texas, donde es Sacerdote residente y auxiliar en la Pastoral juvenil parroquial y diocesana.
Con el tema “Cristo se entregó por nosotros, por Tu Cruz y Tu Resurrección nos has salvado, Señor”, tomándolo como de partida para las celebraciones litúrgicas del Triduo Pascual, Fray Aguilar nos presentará como la Iglesia vive profundamente el misterio de la fe, a través de meditaciones de tipo bíblico, litúrgico y teológico, resaltando algunos elementos importantes para la conversión de nuestros corazones a Dios.
