Conference For Catholic Men To Be Held Nov. 6
Published: October 28, 2010
COLLEGE PARK—The first Georgia Catholic Men’s Conference will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Georgia International Convention Center. The event is open to all men 18 years and older to revive their Catholic faith with thousands of other men and well-known speakers.
According to the website, the daylong conference is to revive the spiritual lives of men and to educate them on the role God expects from them. It says, “Men today, maybe more than any other time in history, need to be reminded and educated about the role God expects us to play in our families, communities, parishes and workplaces. We are bombarded by images and expectations that can drive men further from the Truth in an increasing and aggressive manner. The Georgia Catholic Men’s Conference (GCMC) works to address these issues, the real issues men are facing today, through conferences, resources and fellowship.”
The conference, supported by Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory of the Atlanta Archdiocese and Bishop J. Kevin Boland of the Diocese of Savannah, offers an opportunity for Catholic men in Georgia to come together to learn, pray, grow and celebrate Mass.
Featured speakers include Sean Forrest, the founder, president, and executive director of the Catholic not-for-profit organization Movin’ With The Spirit, Inc.; Father Glenn Sudano, a founding member of the Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal; Tom Peterson, founder of Catholics Come Home, Inc. and Virtue Media, Inc., educational not-for-profit organizations promoting Catholic evangelization and the sanctity of human life; and Father William Casey, a renowned speaker and frequent guest on Eternal Word Television Network.
Archbishop Gregory will celebrate Mass at the conference.
The cost for the event is $40 per person. Priests, deacon, religious and seminarians get in free but will need to register. Tickets are required to enter the convention center.
The Georgia International Convention Center is located at 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park.
