ATLANTA—A small and devoted crowd gathered for Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Aug. 26 to honor what would have been the 100th birthday of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Msgr. Stephen Churchwell was the main celebrant.

Sisters of her order, the Missionaries of Charity, were on hand with relics of their founder, which were there for veneration.

The Missionaries of Charities operate the Gift of Grace House in Atlanta, where they minister to indigent women with AIDS.

Msgr. Stephen Churchwell, judicial vicar of the Metropolitan Tribunal, celebrated the Mass for Mother Teresa’s birthday. Joining him on the altar were (l-r) Msgr. Hugh Marren, pastor of St. Andrew Church, Roswell, and Father Tim Gadziala, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Atlanta.
