To the Editor:

I am a member of Christ Redeemer Church in Dawsonville. A year or so ago I read an article in the Georgia Bulletin about the archdiocese entering into a partnership with the University of Dayton to offer online religious education courses to anyone in the archdiocese. I just finished taking my sixth course through this program, and I want you to know how rewarding it has been.

These classes offer members of the archdiocese, whether they are religious education teachers or just laypeople, an opportunity to learn more about our Catholic faith in a challenging but very accommodating educational format. My interest in these classes has been to learn more about my Catholic faith and not to teach religious education. But with the encouragement of the parish director of religious education, Mary Poole, I led an Introduction to Scripture class for our parish.

I wanted to share my experience from these classes because they are a valuable resource for religious education programs in the archdiocese.
