Noted Speaker To Lead Day Of Reflection

ALPHARETTA—Well-known author and speaker Father Richard Fragomeni will give several keynote talks on liturgy Saturday, Jan. 23, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Father Fragomeni will appear as part of the parish’s annual day of reflection for all liturgical ministers. His topics will address liturgical space, collaborative ministry in liturgy and how to live out our Eucharistic call.
The day of reflection begins at 9 a.m. with Mass and will end at 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. St. Thomas Aquinas Church is located at 535 Rucker Road in Alpharetta.
Father Fragomeni currently teaches liturgy and preaching at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He is also the rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, an Italian-American spiritual center in Chicago’s Little Italy.
A priest of the Diocese of Albany, New York, Father Fragomeni completed a Ph.D. in sacramental theology, a master of arts in liturgical studies and a master of music in vocal performance at The Catholic University of America. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in theology and a master’s degree in religious studies from the University of Louvain in Belgium. He has been an active participant in the implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults in the United States, Canada, Scotland and England.
Father Fragomeni is a widely published author with several books, videos and audiotapes to his credit. His latest book, “Blessed Art Thou: Mother, Lady, Mystic Queen.” won second place for spirituality books in 2005 from the Catholic Press Association. He is a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy and the Catholic Theological Society of America.
