Published: October 15, 2009
The hand carved crucifix, created by Marietta artist Jorge Posada, was on display at the base of St. Thomas Aquinas Church’s altar on Sunday, Aug. 23. The crucifix was blessed during the 10:30 a.m. (English) and 2:30 p.m. Masses at the Alpharetta parish. The 150-pound crucifix, which is 10 feet high and approximately 7 feet wide, was installed over the altar by a group of parishioners Aug. 26. (Photos by Michael Alexander)
