Chip Lovejoy Honored

ROSWELL—Chip Lovejoy, a 2009 graduate of Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, was chosen as this year’s Georgia Scout of the Year and was the runner-up and a scholarship winner in the National 2009 Veterans of Foreign Wars Scout of the Year competition.
He is an Atlanta Sea Scout Squadron Boatswain on Sea Scout Ship 1 of Roswell. An Eagle Scout, Lovejoy was an honor student at Blessed Trinity and lettered in football and lacrosse. He served on the U.S. Coast Guard “Eagle” in July 2008 and is a graduate of the Sea Scout leadership SEAL Chesapeake course. He received the Boy Scout Heroism Award in 2007. He also took part this year in the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge Price of Freedom National Leadership Conference in Valley Forge, Pa., and in the 2008 William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup at Annapolis, Md.
Lovejoy will attend the Florida Institute of Technology and major in ocean engineering.
