Cancer Home Welcomes Special Visitors

As registered nurse Joseph Garvey, left, and patient Gideon Grau, right, look on, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home patient Earl Carter, second from right, feeds a carrot to Officer Eric Pate’s horse Goliath. The five draft cross horses and the Atlanta policemen who ride them made one of their semiannual visits to the Cancer Home June 11. Currently the Atlanta Police Department has 12 mounted police, which includes 10 officers and two supervisors. They also have 15 horses that are maintained at a stable in southeast Atlanta.
