BT Rallies To Defeat Greater Atlanta Christian

ROSWELL—Greater Atlanta Christian School scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead, but Blessed Trinity High School batters ignited for 20 hits and 17 runs, and BT senior Ryan List provided four innings of scoreless pitching to seal a 17-3 victory on April 30.
Junior center fielder Jake Skole led off a bottom of the first inning rally that produced three base hits, a triple by third baseman Court Kasten and five runs. Blessed Trinity added seven runs in the second inning, three more in the third and two more in the fourth.
The only home run of the game also came in the fourth inning when Blessed Trinity right fielder Ricky Kleban took Greater Atlanta Christian relief pitcher Justin Ernest’s curve ball some 350 feet over the fence in left center field.
Coach Andy Harlin, a 10-time coach of the year honoree, in his seventh year as the Blessed Trinity head coach, described his team as “a scrappy bunch.” Harlin said, “They have the ability to come back at any time, and that is a good quality to have going into the postseason.”
Blessed Trinity (18-8) will host round one of the state baseball playoffs as they take on Lamar County High School (19-5) of Barnesville, Friday, May 8.
