Letter to the Editor: Immigration Article Faulted

To the Editor:
Patricia Zapor’s article in the Oct. 9 Georgia Bulletin (“Once Allies On Immigration, Candidates Now Diverge”) refers to “faithful citizenship.” Not once in the article does she mention the words illegal immigrants. She does refer to family reunification and public programs plus refuge for certain people.
We Americans are a loving and compassionate people. Our forefathers came to this country and assimilated into society—learned the language and worked hard—and became contributing citizens. They went through the process and did not look for any taxpayer-funded programs.
Our hope is that future articles will not be so one-sided and will reflect alternate views.
