Transfiguration Teen Chosen For Randall Scholarship

Published: June 19, 2008

ATLANTA—This year marked the 10th presentation of the Stephanie Randall Memorial Scholarship. A $2,000 scholarship was presented to Emily Halstead at Senior Night May 4 at Transfiguration Parish in Marietta. Emily, the daughter of Maureen and Greg Halstead of Woodstock, graduated from Etowah High School in May and will attend Mercer College in Macon in the fall.

The scholarship was established in memory of Stephanie Anne Randall, a senior at Lassiter High School and active member of the Transfiguration Church community at the time of her death in 1998 at the age of 17. The scholarship is open to all high school seniors who are active members of Transfiguration Parish. Selection criteria focus on the applicants’ commitment to living the tenets of the Catholic faith; welcoming others into the parish and youth communities; an active involvement in retreats, service activities and youth events; service through parish ministries and a solid attendance record in high school religious education classes.
