St. Jude Pupil Wins Contest

Marirose Allen, an eighth-grade student at St. Jude the Apostle School, Atlanta, won the Atlanta Archdiocesan Oratorical Competition, which is open to students in grades five to eight. Nineteen students, representing each of the metro Atlanta Catholic elementary schools, participated in this year’s event at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. The students talked about the “Courage to Forgive.” Allen placed first in the competition on Friday, May 2. Shown (l-r) are Abby Addison, language arts teacher, and Allen.
