Blessed Trinity Girls Three-Peat In Soccer

Published: May 15, 2008

ROSWELL—Blessed Trinity High School junior forward Christina Kyker scored the game’s only goal on an assist from senior midfielder Brittany Gordon with 14:00 left in the match to lead Blessed Trinity to its third consecutive state championship over Spalding High School of Griffin.

Blessed Trinity head coach Gilbert Jean-Baptiste said the Spalding goalkeeper did an excellent job to frustrate their forwards, but it was to be expected. Jean-Baptiste added, “Our girls were a little anxious which complicated things; however, in the second half they adjusted and put a tremendous amount of pressure on the Spalding defense. Our plan was to score as early as possible and use our team defense to finish up the game.”

Blessed Trinity finished the 2008 season with a record of 16-0-1.
