Athens Parish To Build New Church

ATHENS—The parish community of St. Joseph Church, Athens, will gather on Sunday, April 6, to officially break ground for a new church building. The parish is currently located in downtown Athens but will move to 958 Epps Bridge Parkway with the construction of the new church.

All are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony, which will take place at 5 p.m., with festivities beginning at 3 p.m. prior to the ceremony. Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will be on hand to join in the celebration with the pastor of St. Joseph’s, Father David McGuinness, and Father Jacques Fabre, as well as the parish community.
