
Georgia Federal Credit Union To Give New Scholarship

ATLANTA—The Georgia Federal Credit Union has established the Archbishop-emeritus John Francis Donoghue scholarship, to be awarded for the first time this year to one high school senior residing in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The maximum award for the scholarship will be $2,500 for a full-time student taking 12 or more credit hours per quarter or semester.
Students applying for the scholarship should submit a short essay emphasizing the importance of the connection between credit unions and Catholic social teaching. In addition, students are required to follow the instructions and application process.
All entries must be sent by March 1 to GFCU’s Catholic Division, Attn.: Hilda Zamora, 6705 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 100, Duluth, GA 30097.
Judging will take place in March by a panel selected by Georgia Federal Credit Union. The winner will be announced in the spring quarterly newsletter and on GFCU’s Web site.
