CARTERSVILLE—Each year the members of St. Francis of Assisi Church observe the feast of the Epiphany with the arrival of three wise men and their caravan. This year’s Epiphany, which was celebrated Sunday, Jan. 6, included a caravan of “wise” volunteers from the parish family, as well as camels, sheep and doves provided by the Pettit Creek Farms Educational Learning Center in Cartersville.

St. Francis of Assisi is located on 850 Douthit Ferry Road in Cartersville.

Camels and sheep supplied some realism at St. Francis of Assisi’s Epiphany celebration on Jan. 6. The animals are being tended by a staff member of the Pettit Creek Farms Educational Learning Center, which provided camels, sheep and doves for the event.

A dove takes off, as Father Dan Stack, left, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cartersville, looks on. The shepherds and animals are from a local animal farm in Cartersville.
