Marist Swimmers Glide To The Top At Annual Meet

ATLANTA – Marist School hosted more than 120 swimming and diving athletes at its aquatic center from Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, Greater Atlanta Christian School, Norcross, and St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, during its third annual Marist Christmas Invitational Swim and Dive Meet on Dec. 15.

St. Pius X High School junior Graham Munger won the boys 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:41.60.

Marist took first place with 856 points (438-girls, 418-boys). Greater Atlanta Christian finished in second place with 498 points (263-girls, 235-boys). St. Pius X finished in third place with 427 points (230-boys, 197-girls). Blessed Trinity held down fourth place with 111 points (107-boys, 104-girls). The meet is spearheaded by Terry Blish, Marist head swimming coach, and Matt Murphy, Marist swimming and diving community coach, a 1995 St. Pius graduate.

Marist School sophomore Alexandra Viers took sixth place in the girls 100-yard breaststroke. The top 10 finishers in an event earn points for their team.
