Lawrenceville Youth Pack Goods For Food Drive

Published: December 13, 2007

LAWRENCEVILLE—St. Lawrence Church held a food drive to benefit the Lawrenceville co-op on Dec. 9. The drive was sponsored by the parish’s middle school EDGE program. Parishioners donated food, which was placed in a U-Haul all weekend. On Sunday evening, some 125 middle school students unloaded the truck, sorted, counted, boxed and re-loaded the food in 45 minutes. Youth minister Kelly Schreckenberger said, “Together, they worked as a team and got it done!”

The parish donated approximately 10,000 food items to the local food co-op, just in time for the holidays.

(L-r) Aubrey Denning and Matt Osterbur, middle school students and parishioners at St. Lawrence Church, Lawrenceville, rest in the truck, which contains the approximately 10,000 food items donated by parishioners for a local food co-op.
