Letter to the Editor: Basketball League Benefits

To the Editor:

I cannot thank you and your staff enough for the article about the Catholic Men’s Basketball League in the Dec. 6 edition (“New Catholic Men’s Basketball League Starts Strong”). Please express my deepest appreciation to Stephen O’Kane for the excellent job of reporting and of course, Michael (Alexander) for his usual fantastic photography.

Both gentlemen did such a good job getting a lot of information into the article, and it was very well read by Catholics around the archdiocese if the calls and notes I received already are any indication. I have received e-mails from two parishes already wanting to join the league next year. Since the parishes are located on the other side of Atlanta it is possible that our league may expand to include more of the archdiocese if organizers can be located.

I have also received positive comments about Our Lady of Mercy, which was my main intent in getting this league started. It is my prayer that my efforts along with the continued fine support of The Georgia Bulletin that we can have a waiting list for this fine school within a short period of time.
