Dorsel issued a challenge during his inaugural year (2006) as principal when he promised to join the step team during halftime of the varsity boys basketball home opener, Nov. 30, if the school’s enrollment reached 220 students for the 2007-2008 school year. Since the student body grew to 222, a 10 percent increase over last year, Dorsel kept his word. Three weeks of practice at a secret location paid off for Dorsel, and the boys team also defeated Whitewater High School of Fayetteville 61-53 to improve their record to 3-0.
