Rockdale County Sheriff Jeff Wigington, right, and his wife, Beth, were special guests during the St. Pius X parish community’s 30th anniversary celebration, June 17.

As the parish was celebrating its 30th anniversary, Father John Kieran, pastor, was celebrating his 40th anniversary as a priest. Standing before a crowd of well-wishers, kitchen director Iris Grant presents Father Kieran with a cake commemorating his years of priestly service.

Father John Kieran, background left, and his brother Father Richard, sitting, are captured in a photo by their sister, Poona McNally. The priests are posing with longtime friends Hayne and Cindy Palmer and their children (l-r) Joseph, 8, Hannah, 6, and Luke, 10.
