
Christmas Concert To Offer Music From Many Cultures

ATLANTA—The Archbishop James P. Lyke Memorial Mass Choir will sponsor an archdiocesan Christmas concert, “Joyfully United by Our Faith,” on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. at the Sisters Chapel of Spelman College.
The event, which is also co-sponsored by the archdiocesan Office for Black Catholic Ministry and the Office for Hispanic Ministry, will feature a showcase of Christmas music celebrated by choirs drawn from the rich variety of Catholic cultures represented in the archdiocese.
Monica Pearson, WSB-TV anchor, will serve as the mistress of ceremonies.
Performers include the Archbishop Lyke Memorial Mass Choir; the Nigerian Catholic community choir; the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception hand bell choir; the Gambian Christian Peoples Association chorale; the Hosanna prayer group from the Ivorian Catholic community; and the Hispanic choirs from St. Pius X Church in Conyers and St. John Neumann Church in Lilburn.
The event is free of charge. A love offering will be taken.
