To the Editor:
I compliment you on two excellent articles in the Sept. 7 issue:
1. “Search for Truth and Poetry” by Bishop Arthur Roche. This is the first time I have felt positive about a new translation of the Order of Mass. Specifically, the idea that the present translation was always intended to be provisional. As an aside, I wonder if any other languages will be re-translated.
2. “Immigration Field Hearings Elicit Strong Response” by Susan Stevenot Sullivan. I believe I heard her presentation at Transfiguration, at which time I was dismayed at the hostility amongst my fellow parishioners. I could sense her frustration at Gainesville and Dalton. The public stance of Archbishop Gregory and other bishops causes me to be proud of being Catholic.
