To the Editor:

Thank you for Susan Stevenot Sullivan’s recent commentary on immigration (‘Immigration Field Hearings Elicit Strong Response,’ The Georgia Bulletin, Sept. 7). I appreciated her calm tone in addressing a hot-button issue, trying to understand “both sides” while also challenging us as Catholics to remember our immigrant history and to put Gospel love of neighbor into action. I hope we see future Georgia Bulletin articles like this on similarly complex, potentially divisive issues within the church and society.
