What I Have Seen and Heard - Archbishop Gregory's Weekly Column

Letter to the Editor from Cumming, GA

Published: September 22, 2005

To the Editor:

Regarding the article in the Sept.15 issue of The Georgia Bulletin, titled “Football in Full Swing At Catholic High Schools,” you failed to mention two of the high school football teams that are Catholic and a part of the archdiocese as independent schools. Holy Spirit Prep and Pinecrest Academy are both independent Catholic schools that field varsity football teams. Although both programs are new and still in the building phase, these teams at the very least are heroic in their efforts as they face their opponents with many of the players playing offense and defense and only coming out when they are exhausted. Their efforts warrant a mention in your paper. The two teams will play on Oct. 28 at Pinecrest Academy at 7:30 p.m.
