ATLANTA—The local high school football season is going full tilt. On Aug. 26 St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, was victorious in the first all-Catholic gridiron showdown of the regular season against Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, 31-7. The following week both teams lost by a 3-point margin. St. Pius rebounded in week four beating Etowah 23-6, while Blessed Trinity came up a little short at home to Lovett School 31-24. This Friday, Sept. 16, St. Pius X is at home against North Springs High School. Blessed Trinity is idle until they take on Greater Atlanta Christian School on their home field Sept. 23.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fairburn, is looking for their first win of the season this Friday against Aquinas High School of Augusta, while Marist School is unbeaten in its first four games. The team is averaging nearly 37 points a game against their opponents. Marist fans await an exciting match-up at Adams Stadium this Friday as they face an undefeated Tucker High School team.
