Doraville Mission Is Outfitted For Soccer

Published: June 16, 2005

(R-l) Roderick Padilla and Peter and Anamaria Olivarez present 12 new soccer uniforms for the clergy to Father Fabio Sotelo-Peña, chaplain of Our Lady of the Americas Mission, Doraville, May 10. The handcrafted uniforms, made in Lima, Peru, were presented on behalf of Hermandad Señor de los Milagos (Lord of Miracles). The mission will host a soccer game June 17 in which a clergy team of priests and seminarians will play a team of youth and other people from the community. The game is an attempt to share and reach out beyond the pulpit, promote vocations and evangelize to people, thereby giving them a sense of belonging. (Photo by Michael Alexander)
