Saturday Classes Teach Catholic Faith Topics

ROSWELL—A 17-Saturday series of classes in 2005 offers an opportunity to gain more in-depth knowledge of the Catholic faith.

The course series is designed to provide advanced catechist certification in the Archdiocese of Atlanta but is open to those who would like to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith. It is possible to attend individual classes or the entire course, but it is necessary to register. The classes are held at St. Andrew Church, 675 Riverside Road, Roswell, in the RCIA room from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A parish Mass is celebrated at 9 a.m. Classes are held once or twice a month; there are no classes in June, July and August. The cost is $130 for the course, excluding books, or $10 for each class audited.

The schedule is as follows: Jan. 22, Catechism of the Catholic Church and Revelation; Feb. 12, Church History; Feb. 26, Creed and Doctrine I—Heresies; March 12, Creed and Doctrine II—12 Articles; March 19, Liturgy I: The Sacraments; April 9, Liturgy II: The Eucharist; April 23, Liturgy III: General Instruction on Roman Missal; May 7, Code of Canon Law; May 21, Methodology; Sept. 10, Catholic Morality: Life in Christ; Sept. 24, Catholic Morality: Commandments 1,2,3,7,8,10; Oct. 15, Catholic Morality: Commandments 4,5,6,9; Oct. 29, Documents of Vatican II: Dei Verbum; Nov. 5, Documents of Vatican II: Lumen Gentium; Nov. 19, Documents of Vatican II: Guadium et Spes; Dec. 3, Documents of Vatican II: Apostolicam Actuositatem; Dec. 10, Prayer and Spirituality.
