“Joy in Finding Jesus,” an ADVENT DAY RETREAT will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m-5 p.m. at the Marist School Chapel, 3790 Ashford-Dunwoody Rd., NE. The retreat will include talks by Father Tim Hepburn, Father John Shramko and Father Richard Morrow, as well as small group discussions, confession and personal reflection. The cost of $15 includes light breakfast and lunch. Following the retreat, participants will attend 5:30 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta. Volunteer at the SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS PARTY on Saturday, Dec. 18. YAM and CTK Singles are throwing their second annual Christmas party for the children living downtown at the Salvation Army Shelter, 400 Luckie St., NW, Atlanta. Decorating starts at noon. Young adults serve dinner at 4:15 p.m. and have a party with children’s gift opening from 5-6 p.m. Come for all or part of the day—people of all ages are welcome. St. Jude’s Avenues invites all young adults to a NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY on Friday, Dec. 31, at the Stapleton Center at the church, 7171 Glenridge Dr., Atlanta. RELAY FOR LIFE team leaders are needed. Relay for Life is a unique, challenging and enjoyable way to raise money for the American Cancer Society and to raise awareness of cancer and cancer survivorship. Teams of 8-12 members camp out at the event overnight, and team members take turns walking or running around the track throughout the 15-hour event. The relay will involve teams from the Buckhead community, including teams from CTK Singles and YAM. It will be held at North Atlanta High School beginning at
7 p.m. on Friday, May 20, and ending at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21. Contact Kim at ctkservice@yahoo.com by Jan. 1, 2005. General recruitment for team members will begin in mid-January.
The next SPIN DATING DINNER DANCE will be held Friday, Feb. 11, from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at The Pavillion, 3880 Roswell Rd. (just north of Buckhead). The cost of $50 per ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, three-course, sit-down dinner and dancing. This event is open to young adults ages 21-29. This event will sell out quickly.
