To the Editor:

Thank you for sharing Father Michael Heninger’s letter in last week’s Georgia Bulletin. He has so poignantly reminded us that we can all be a part of the rebuilding of Iraq by upholding our heroes on the ground there in our prayers. We must all join with them in prayer for the renewal of their spirits, as well as the continuing commitment on the part of our country to bring peace to Iraq. We should also thank God for the presence of a spiritual leader, our own Father Michael Heninger, in the midst of this momentous struggle for freedom.   

How desperately we need more Catholic chaplains to serve our Catholic troops, who, as you noted, represent nearly one third of all our service men and women. May Christ’s work be accomplished through their efforts.
