To the Editor:
I was extremely pleased by the music at the Eucharistic Congress (June 12). The Gregorian chant was wonderful! The choir anthems and instrumental pieces were outstanding. I applaud and give a huge thank-you to everyone involved with this, including those who gave permission for such good music to be used. When I lived in Strasbourg, France, and attended the cathedral there, the congregation sang the parts of the Mass in Gregorian chant. This included the Credo, which was sung in “alternatim” (with the priest alternating phrases with the congregation), and the Gloria, among others. One can only wish that this be done at our Eucharistic Congress next year.
Hallelujah! Praised be Jesus Christ in His body, blood, soul, and divinity!
