
Decree Establishes St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church

In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Canon Law, and after having consulted with the Council of Priests of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, I now deem it fitting to establish St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Following are the boundaries of said Parish.
The Northern Boundary: From the point where Posey Road meets Interstate 85, north by northeast to the point where Interstate 85 meets the North Coweta County/Fulton County line and then extending eastward along the Coweta County line to the point where the Coweta County line meets the Fayette County line.
The Eastern Boundary: From the point that the Coweta County line meets the Fayette County line, running southward along the eastern Coweta County/Fayette County line (along Line Creek) until it meets the Meriwether County line.
The Southern Boundary: From the point where the eastern Coweta County/Fayette County line meets the Meriwether line, westerly along the Coweta County/Meriwether County line to the point where this county line meets with Interstate 85.
The Western Boundary: From the point that the southern Coweta County/Meriwether County line meets Interstate 85, running north along Interstate 85, to the point that the interstate meets Poplar Road. The boundary continues east along Poplar Road, then north on Sullivan Road, crossing Highway 34 where Poplar Road becomes Baker Road. The boundary continues north on Baker Road until Baker Road meets Posey Road, then north by northwest on Posey Road until it meets Interstate 85 and the point of beginning.
I also take this opportunity to name Reverend Daniel J. Fleming as first Pastor of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, and commend him, his successors, and all the parishioners of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the protection of the Blessed and Ever-Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This Decree will become effective on November 1, 2003.
