‘Revive2’ Set To Inspire Young Adults Of The Archdiocese
Published: November 13, 2003
ROSWELL—The archdiocesan Office of Young Adult Ministry will sponsor “Revive2,” an evening of Christian music, national speakers, fellowship and eucharistic adoration, on Friday, Nov. 21, at the St. Andrew’s Family Life Center in Roswell.
The night is free and open to all single and married young adults ages 19-40. Speakers include Scott Hahn, Ph.D., Cherie Peacock, Paul George, Father Tim Hepburn and the Revive Band. Persons are invited to meet Jesus Christ anew and hundreds of young adults who want to grow in faith.
At the event, which is open to all, one will encounter the devout, converts, non-Catholics and those who’ve been away from the church.
Hahn is a popular speaker, author and teacher who has delivered hundreds of talks on a variety of topics related to Scripture and the Catholic faith. He is a professor of theology and Scripture at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. He is a convert, as after serving as an ordained Presbyterian minister for 10 years, he entered the Catholic Church in 1986. He and his wife Kimberly have been married for 20 years and have six children. For more information on Hahn visit www.scotthahn.org.
Peacock is a single young adult and the associate editor of the national Catholic publication Our Sunday Visitor.
George has been in the trenches of youth ministry working with teenagers, young adults and adults for the past nine years. He has run parish youth ministry programs in Louisiana and Arizona and is currently the Southeast regional director for Life Teen International. He has spoken internationally at rallies, retreats and conferences and resides in Marietta with his wife Gretchen and their three young children.
Father Hepburn has a passion for working with teens and young adults. He earned an architecture degree from Auburn University before entering seminary and is currently the chaplain of the Catholic Center at Emory University.
Music will be provided by the Revive Band, composed of talented young adult musicians from throughout Atlanta and led by Jon Ferguson of Holy Spirit Church. The group formed for the first Revive and has been playing together ever since.
The first Revive was held this past June in conjunction with the Eucharistic Congress. Almost 1,000 young adults from all over the archdiocese were in attendance. Director of young adult ministry Kersti O’Farrell described it as “an extraordinary opportunity for us to be spiritually uplifted and have a lot of fun. The experience of worship in the midst of so many of your peers is powerful.”
