Catholic Worker Home To Honor Dorothy Day

MARIETTA—A Mass to honor the birthday of Catholic Worker founder Dorothy Day (born Nov. 8, 1897) will be celebrated with Father John Welch on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6:45 p.m. at the Seamless Garment Catholic Worker Home for Expectant Mothers, a home for women in crisis pregnancy.

The home is located at 636 Tom Read Drive, Marietta. A potluck dinner will follow Mass.

The Seamless Garment Catholic Worker Home will also sponsor a day of reflection on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The theme of the retreat is “Refreshing the Spirit: Loving Service in the Footsteps of Dorothy Day.”

Sister Loretta McCarthy, SBS, will lead the retreat day at Maisha House of Prayer, 520 Parkway Drive, Atlanta. The day includes Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 25 Boulevard, NE, Atlanta at 10:30 a.m.
