Archbishop Donoghue To Ordain Charlotte Bishop

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Archbishop John F. Donoghue will ordain and install the Most Reverend Peter Joseph Jugis, JCD, as the fourth bishop of the Diocese of Charlotte, N.C., at noon on Friday, Oct. 24, at St. Matthew Church in Charlotte.
Also scheduled to take part in the episcopal ordination and installation are retired Charlotte Bishop William G. Curlin and Bishop Joseph Gossman of the Diocese of Raleigh, N.C.
Archbishop Gabriel Montalvo, apostolic nuncio to the United States from the Vatican, will preside. The church, which seats 2,000 people, is located at 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, and the public is invited.
Bishop-designate Jugis is a priest of the Diocese of Charlotte. Archbishop Donoghue was the second bishop of Charlotte, which is part of the Province of Atlanta.
