KENNESAW—St. Catherine School held its first “Sienasaw” Weekend Sept. 27-29. The weekend involved two events that brought together local businesses, families, parishioners and the school community. Proceeds will benefit SCS’s multimedia center as the school continues to grow.
The race events on Sept. 27, the 5K Sienasaw Road Race and 1-Mile Fun Run, drew more than 191 participants in the 5K and 151 in the short run. Students at the school were encouraged to participate in either event.
Don Gizinski, chairperson of the event, was extremely pleased by the support received by local businesses, school personnel and parents, and St. Catherine ministries. Father Theodore Book and Father Joseph Peek both participated in the 5K, with Father Book coming in second in his age group.
The benefit ended on Monday, Sept. 29, with the Golf Classic at Eagle Watch Country Club. Participants enjoyed lunch prior to participating in a scramble tournament.
Craig Gerald, chairperson of the Golf Classic, was very pleased with the participation by pastor Father Jim Harrison, parishioners, the St. Catherine Men’s Club and school parents. |
