Four Make Eagle Scout

Four Boy Scouts from Troop 522, sponsored by St. John Neumann Church, Lilburn, recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout and were recognized in a court of honor held at the church.

Blaine T. Parry of Snellville, a 2003 graduate of Brookwood High School now attending Auburn University, has been in Scouting for 11 years and earned 30 merit badges. His Eagle project involved building shelving units to store food and other items, and a mail-drop box, for the Lilburn Cooperative Ministry, a project that required 203 hours of planning and work. His parents are Mary and Kevin Parry.

David Guy of Lilburn, a senior at Parkview High School, earned 26 merit badges in 10 years of Scouting. For his Eagle project, he designed and supervised construction of 16 wooden, decorative donation boxes for the Lilburn Cooperative Ministry, and a wooden bench for ministry patrons. The donation boxes were placed in Lilburn churches and the project took 300 hours and involved 22 workers. His parents are Phil and Shirley Guy.

Blaine Foley of Lilburn, a senior at Parkview High School, has been in Scouting over 10 years and earned 22 merit badges and other awards and has served in troop leadership positions. He worked with Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful to educate neighborhoods about the impact of pollution on local streams and rivers. His parents are Bill and Joyce Foley.

Nathan Flieg of Lilburn, also a senior at Parkview High School, has earned 26 merit badges in six years in the Boy Scouts. His Eagle project involved painting a large map of the United States on a playground blacktop area at Camp Creek Elementary School in Lilburn and building a bench for visitors, a project that took 186 hours and involved 20 workers. His parents are Donald and Joanne Flieg.
