St. Brendan’s Hosts Broadway 2003 Musical Revue

Published: September 11, 2003

CUMMING—“Curtain up! Light the lights,” sings Paul A. Tate, director of music and liturgy at St. Brendan’s Church.

Over 40 parishioners will entertain the community with a Broadway review on the weekend of Sept. 19-20, with shows each night at 8 p.m. The excited cast, ages 6-60, expects a big turnout.

“Given the response we had last year, we are expecting large crowds for this two-hour musical extravaganza,” said Tate.

As a result, this year’s show will be presented in a larger space, Creekside United Methodist Church, 673 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming.

The musical review will feature selections from such Broadway favorites as “Guys and Dolls,” “Les Miserables” and “Hairspray.” The show will be highlighted by some of Tate’s own musical arrangements, as well as works by Mac Huff, Ed Lojeski and Carl Strommen. Instrumentalists will include musicians from nearby parishes, high schools and colleges.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be obtained at St. Brendan’s Church. Extra tickets may be available the night of the program at Creekside Church.

For information, call Tate at St. Brendan’s at (770) 205-7969, ext. 23.
