Celebration Of Preaching Event Takes Place At Emory

ATLANTA—The Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University announces “A Celebration of Preaching,” co-sponsored by the Candler School of Theology at Emory, Tuesday-Friday, Sept. 16-19.

This weeklong program is concerned with educating faithful and creative leaders for the church’s ministry in the world while examining the art and science of preaching.

The Aquinas Center welcomes Sister Kathleen Cannon, OP, of Notre Dame University to this event on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church on the Emory Campus. She will be preaching on “God’s Future: Not Yet Fully Born,” a homily on Romans 8:22-27.

Other preachers and teachers include Fred Craddock, Bob Kysar, Wesley Wachob, Teresa Fry Brown, Gail O’Day, David Petersen, John Claypool, Anna Carter Florence, Robert Franklin, Kathleen Canon, Buth Luton Cook and Tom Long.
