Thea Jarvis To Sign Books At Notre Dame

ATLANTA—A writer for The Georgia Bulletin for 19 years, Thea Jarvis will host a discussion and book signing of her first book, “The Gift of Grandparenting,” at the Notre Dame Book Shop, 5273A Buford Highway, NE, from 11 a.m-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Published by Sorin Books of Notre Dame, Ind., “The Gift of Grandparenting” offers 10 reflections on the intimate spirituality of grandparenting and celebrates the special relationship between grandparents and grandchildren.
Jarvis encourages grandparents to participate actively in the lives of their grandchildren and—complete with lively examples and suggestions--she focuses on opportunities to share the gifts that each generation holds for the other, opportunities to play, to teach, to grow, to trust, to serve, to limit, to heal, to remember, to love and to dance.
A family life writer, Jarvis has written for numerous publications, including The Atlanta Journal- Constitution, America, Catholic Digest and Catholic News Service, and has received several awards from the Catholic Press Association for her work as a columnist and feature writer. Her family life column was featured in 17 church newspapers.
While living in the Atlanta area, she and her husband, Ray, and their children were members of Holy Cross Church, Atlanta, and later of Christ Our Hope Church, Lithonia. Now grandparents of eight, they reside on St. Simons Island.
