Published: September 4, 2003

ALPHARETTA—The 12th annual Saint Joseph’s Golf Classic will be held Monday, Sept. 15 at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, to benefit Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services, which provides health care and social services to the poor.

“We’ve pulled out all the stops to make this a day our players and sponsors won’t soon forget,” said Henry D. Cline, M.D., the 2003 tournament chair. “In addition to the prestigious location, this year’s tournament features celebrity guests, exceptional prizes, coveted silent auction items and delicious food.”

The event will begin with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m., with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. Golfers will join Sports Radio 680 the Fan’s Buck Belue and John Kincade as they play in the two-man best ball tournament, then broadcast their afternoon “Buck and Belue Show” live from the Golf Club of Georgia. All tournament participants also have a shot at winning a new Lexus from Hennessy Lexus, as well as an opportunity to participate in the Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at the La Quinta Resort and Club in California.

Spouses and non-golfers are invited to participate in the “19th Hole” celebration featuring an awards dinner, prizes and silent auction following the tournament. A limited number of individual entries and group sponsorships are still available. Cost is $750 for individuals. Mercy Care is an outreach of Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta.
