East Metro Parishes Plan 9/11 Services

ATLANTA—St. Oliver Plunkett and Corpus Christi parishes in east Atlanta are each holding prayer services to remember the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Corpus Christi Church, 600 Mountain View Drive, Stone Mountain, will present a Triduum on Sept. 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. each night. Themes for each Mass will be faith, hope and love and reconciliation, respectively, featuring an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sept. 11. All are welcome. St. Oliver Plunkett Church, 3200 Brooks Drive, Snellville, will hold a Night of Remembrance on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. This night will begin with a procession into the church, a moving slide show to help one remember and reflect upon the events of the tragedy, and a Mass of Remembrance. Following the service will be a time for fellowship and refreshment in the Parish Family Life Center, sponsored by the St. Oliver’s AIDS ministry.
