2003 Catechist Formation Classes Will Be Held At Roswell Parish
ROSWELL-The archdiocesan Office of Religious Education and Faith Formation will hold its Catechist Certification Formation Program on Saturdays throughout 2003 at St. Andrew Church in Roswell.
Classes will be held from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with an optional 9 a.m. Mass. The schedule is biweekly with some exceptions for holidays and a three-month summer break. The cost is $130 for the series or $10 per class plus the cost of books.
The topics are: Jan. 25, documents of Vatican II, 1963-65; Feb. 1, Code of Canon Law, 1983; Feb. 22, Roman Missal, third edition, 2002; March 1, Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition, 2000; March 22, Scripture I, Old Testament; April 12, Scripture II, Gospels and Acts of the Apostles; April 26, Scripture III, Epistles and Revelation; May 10, Creed and Doctrine I; May 24, Creed and Doctrine II.
Following a summer break, classes resume in September. The topics are: Sept. 13, church history; Sept. 27, Liturgy I, the Mass; Oct. 11, Liturgy II, the sacraments; Oct. 25, Catholic morality I, commandments I-III; Nov. 8, Catholic morality II, commandments IV-X; Nov. 15, Catholic morality III, duties of station of life; Dec. 6, prayer and spirituality.
