Shirley Washington, former FOX5 News anchor, welcomes everyone to the Dec. 7 concert. Washington, currently a news anchor at FOX4 News, Dallas, was one of the cofounders of the annual Anchorwoman's Christmas Concert six years ago, which originally began as a fund-raiser for her former church, Turner Chapel A.M.E Church, Marietta. Since then the concerts have been held to raise money for local charities. The proceeds from this year's concert went to My House, a facility that cares for babies with AIDS. Father Kevin Peek, pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Decatur, shared a spiritual reflection on Christmas and gave the final benediction at the concert. In addition to the anchorwomen's performances, a choir under the direction of Val Parker and made up of members from Sts. Peter and Paul Church, St. Anthony Church, Sigma Alpha Iota Sorority and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity sang seasonal and praise hymns.
Lisa Rayam sings "O Holy Night" during the sixth annual Anchorwoman's Christmas Concert at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Decatur. Rayam is a news anchor at FOX5 News.
Amanda Davis of FOX5 News, left, and Karyn Greer of 11Alive News serve as hostesses for the Dec. 7 Anchorwoman's Christmas Concert. Greer is a member of St. Benedict's Church, Duluth.
